Distance: 100 km Cycle Tour, 46km Fun Ride
Seeding: The Daily Dispatch Felt Cycle Tour is a seeding event for the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour 2011, the Pick ‘n Pay 94.7 Cycle Challenge 2011 and other major national cycling events.Cyclists will be seeded according to specific criteria as set out at the discretion of the organisers.
Substitutions: You may not sell your number, or allow anyone else to ride under that number.
Timing: RACETEC is the Official Timing System for the Daily Dispatch Felt Cycle Tour. Please note you will need to purchase your RACETEC chip at a fee over and above the cost of the entry fee. This can be done at registration. You may also purchase RACETEC Chips through a Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour Seeding Event. You will need a Timing Chip to obtain an official time.
Cut off time: Participants must complete the course in 6 hours or less in order to qualify as finishers and to receive a medal. Support vehicles and marshals will be withdrawn after the cut off time.
Results: A full set of results will be available on the website. The results will be published in The Daily Dispatch in the week following the event (Note that these results will be provisional).
Prize Money: Prize money to the value of R30 000-00 will be paid. Full details on the website. Note that in terms of CSA rules, prize money may only be paid to Cyclists Licenced with CSA. Lucky draw prizes are available to all participants.
Medals: All finishers receive a medal on completion of the route within the time limit
Water Points: See map for the positions of the water points. Water and Powerade will be available.
Age: No cyclists under the age of 12 years old (on race day) are permitted
Prize Giving: Will take place at 12h00 at the Osner Hotel |
